This book contains nine essays on key issues related to democracy and human rights in East Asia. All texts focuses on normative convergences and divergences within East Asia and between East Asia and the West on democratic and humanitarian institutions. The authors conducted comparative studies on issues of democracy and human rights in China, Japan, Taiwan and ASEAN countries, spanning both national and international levels.
