Romanica Silesiana jest problematyka gender, wciąż wywołująca także w środowisku akademickim żywe dyskusje, o czym świadczy wyjątkowo duża liczba zgłoszonych do przyjętego tematu szkiców. Z tego też względu numer obejmuje dwa tomy, w których artykuły uporządkowano według kryterium językowego: tom 1 zawiera teksty francuskie i angielskie, tom 2 – hiszpańskie i włoskie. Wśród przedstawionych w niniejszym tomie zagadnień, podejmowanych w kontekście literaturoznawstwa, historii sztuki oraz antropologii kultury, można wyróżnić kilka grup tematycznych, takich jak: płeć w debatach parlamentarnych i dyskursie prawnym, gender jako pojęcie socjologiczne, koncept abiektu i cielesności, erotyki i seksualności, konstrukcje kobiecości i męskości, transgresja norm społeczno-kulturowych i obyczajowych.
